Board Exams 2021: Government Of India Cancels Class 10 Board Exams Due To Covid-19 Spike!
In view of the Covid-19 surge, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announces the cancellation and postponement of CBSE Board Exams for Class 10 and 12, respectively. On Wednesday, the Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the cancellation of Class 10 Board Exams; however, the Class 12 Board Exams have been postponed. The GOI has taken this decision considering a recorded spike in Covid-19 cases in India.
Class 10 students would be promoted on the basis of internal assessment and an objective criterion to be developed by CBSE, as informed by Pokhriyal. “Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams,” the Union Minister said in his Tweet.
To answer Class 12 students & their parents’ questions, the Minister said that the fresh exam dates would be announced on June 1 after reviewing the Covid-19 situation in the country. CBSE will provide a notice of at least 15 days before the commencement of the examination to ensure the convenience of students.
